My personal daily supplementation regimen


People often ask me what supplements I take myself. At my age of 66 I consciously follow the supplement protocol as indicated below:


- OMENAQ®, a Cardio Complex: approx. 1 g EPA+DHA with 50 mg coQ10 (ubiquinol), 45 mcg vitamin K2 and 5 mcg vitamin D3
- PLUSHINZO Anti-Aging Complex: approx. 1 g EPA+DHA with tocotrienols, coQ10 (ubiquinone), resveratrol, Pycnogenol®, garlic extract and folic acid
Crataegus Complex 600 mg
A hypo-allergenic total multivitamin or a 100% whole-food complex, alternately
Vitamin D3 at 25.000 I.U. a week

My food choices:


- regular consumption of juice smoothies (made with a slow cold press juicer)
- I eat a lot of different coloured fruits such as kiwis, blueberries, red raspberries, pomegranate, strawberries, bananas, oranges as well as green vegetables - all organic if possible
- when I’m travelling I use “Organic Greens” (from Garden of Life or Douglas Labs)
- I limit the amount of cow’s milk and prefer soy or rice milk
- one glass of good quality red wine a day
- I use organic flaxseed oil as spread or added to salads
- I use butter in moderation and avoid margarines
Eat whatever you like but always get a good balance between protein and carbohydrates. Once a week a good hamburger with lots of vegetables doesn’t harm your health.

My physical activity: Fast Cardio Walking for 30 minutes and a 10-15 minutes stretching every day.

General advice:


Use a supplement high in EPA+DHA, tocotrienols, GLA, folic acid, zinc, lipoic acid, N-acetyl cysteine (precursor of glutathione), taurine, L-carnitine, indole-3-carbinol (broccoli), curcumin+BioPerine®, resveratrol, trans-ferulic acid and milk thistle. You may consider taking mushroom extracts from shitake and maitake as well as astaxanthin and bee pollen.

 

To all adults I recommend a daily intake of 2 g EPA+DHA.

 

People engaged in intensive sports should consider to supplement their healthy diet on a daily basis with 3 g EPA+DHA as well as with antioxidants such as N-acetyl cysteine, lipoic acid, taurine, curcumin+BioPerine®, magnesium and Leopin Five (LE-5, aged garlic extract).

 

Avoid free radicals generated by eating pro-inflammatory diets such as high-glycaemic carbohydrates, fried or hydrogenated foods. Avoid as much as possible exposure to ultraviolet light, stress, environmental pollution and hormonal changes.

 

For female members of family and friends I suggest the following supplements:
1 g EPA/DHA® (MorEPA Platinum or EPACOR®), MoreGLA®, Vitamin D 25000 IU a week, 50 mg CoQ10 (Ubiquinol), and an extra multivitamin such as “Womans Nutrients” from “PureCaps” for example.
Advice to all Women: If you want to improve your skin and a healthy aging don’t rely solely on external cosmetics! Beauty comes from the inside! Healthy heart + Healthy liver = Healthy mind + Healthy skin
